President Biden Plans to Pardon Federal Offenses of Simple Marijuana Possession

Election time is coming back around and President Biden plans to leave his stamp as President for years to come. This month he announced that he wants to take steps towards the marijuana reform. In a statement written from the White House, President Biden writes: As I often said during my campaign for President, no one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana. Sending people to prison for possessing marijuana has upended too many lives and incarcerated people for conduct that many states no longer prohibit.

he exclaims that he is putting 3 approaches in affect to stop so many incarcerations amongst blacks and browns dealing with the dealings of marijuana.

  • Announcing a pardon of all prior Federal offenses of simple possession of marijuana.
  • urging all Governors to do the same with regard to state offenses.
  • asking the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Attorney General to initiate the administrative process to review expeditiously how marijuana is scheduled under federal law.
Hopefully this reform will help alot of people get their life on track without being weighed down with marijuana violations.
